Why people choose part worn
Sometimes a new tyre isn't the right answer. The car's being sold in a few months, the MOT is next week, or the money just isn't there this month. A good part worn tyre with plenty of tread left on it is a legal and perfectly sensible choice, and we'd far rather fit one than have you driving around on something dangerous.
What we won't do is pretend a part worn is always the cheapest route. Budget-brand new tyres are often close enough in price that they make more sense, and if that's the case we'll tell you on the phone.
What we check before it goes on
We check the tread depth across the whole width of the tyre, not just down the middle. We look at the sidewalls for cuts, bulges and perishing, check the bead, look for any sign of a previous repair, and check the age.
If anything's wrong with it, it doesn't get fitted. That's the difference between a part worn tyre and a cheap tyre, and it's why we're happy to put our name to the ones we sell.

We tell you the actual tread depth before you agree to anything, so you know exactly what you're getting.
Budget new tyres
Brand new, at the cheaper end of the range. Often better value than a part worn once you compare how much tread you get for the money.
